ORQUESTA BORINQUEN

Originally from New York and raised in Los Angeles, Gil came to Sacramento, CA in 1981.  He grew up playing guitar, bass and singing vocals in many genres, Rock, Jazz, Blues and R&B.

 

Gil started playing Salsa in the early 1990’s and eventually formed and became the band leader for the Sacramento based Salsa group Conquista Musical. 

 

Conquista Musical played many venues and lasted for about 18 years.  Around 2008, Gil began playing gigs with Orquesta Borinquen. 

 

He has shared stages with many artists including Jerry Rivera, Hector Tricoche, Ismael Rivera Jr., Hector Ray, Don Perignon, Herman Olivera, Frankie Vasquez, Willie Torres & many more.
